New Data on Apiscalp for Textured Hair

Croda Beauty Actives has in vivo and in vitro studies on this multifunctional scalp care ingredient, which is a natural extract of apium graveolens seeds.

Croda Beauty Actives (formerly Sederma) has unveiled new tests on textured hair with Apiscalp, its multifunctional scalp ingredient. The active, a natural extract of apium graveolens seeds, is a unique answer for specific concerns of both oily and dry scalp. It helps to fight against dandruff, itching, dryness and hyperseborrhea, to control local microflora (Malassezia) proliferation, to restore the scalp stratum corneum integrity and to regulate the epidermal differentiation and desquamation.

For non-textured hair, Apiscalp markedly reduces scalp itching by 80% and improves scalp hydration by +43% after three weeks of application on volunteers with textured hair. Volunteers also noted an improvement in the flaking state of their scalp as early as after one application and with an average reduction of 19%. This reduction is even greater after three weeks, reaching 63%, for all volunteers regardless of their gender or hair type.

More in vivo and in vitro studies, available on demand, have been conducted to demonstrate its various benefits on scalp beauty and wellness, according to Croda.

Apiscalp is a plant-based ingredient obtained from the sustainable supercritical CO2 extraction process. It complies with the Chinese regulation for cosmetic ingredients and is Cosmos approved.
